From the many years we’ve been covering the rumours about Everton’s possible move to Europe, we’ve never seen Newcastle United being linked to the Grêmio star.

But now the Magpies have made an offer for the Brazilian player, at least according to a report from website Fichajes this Friday.

They say the Premier League side tried to get Everton on a loan deal, adding an option to buy him for €45m at the end of the spell.

Grêmio wanted the buying clause to be obligatory, and with the Magpies not being sure about all that investment, they’ve stepped down.

Several other European sides are said to be still interested in the player, including Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint Germain

Now although Fichajes still calls Everton a ‘young promise’, the player turns 24 in March, and it’s looking unlikely that European clubs will pay the amount which Grêmio have been demanding for him.
