‘New phone call’ from Aston Villa, story is being pushed along which suggest interest

Andrea Stramaccioni to Aston Villa rumours are all over the Italian media, and it seems that someone is trying to blow air into a story which started with not a lot behind it.

The Italian media initially covered the rumour by saying it’s what has been reported in the English media over the past few days, but there’s an issue with that.

English ‘reports’ were actually another HITC opinion article which used an Italian article from May, and Steve Bruce’s current struggles, to build up the rumour where there hadn’t been one.

That it’s taken off so quickly in Italy is telling. There have been several media outlets adding to the misunderstood rumour pushing, including Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper claim there’s been a ‘new phone call’ from Aston Villa to Stramaccioni. They’re only going to find that out from the man himself, agents or Villa, and it’s unlikely the latter are leaking to the Italian media.

That would suggest there’s interest from the former Inter Milan manager, and the shaky rumour has been grasped.
