On Friday evening, Sport Witness covered reports from Turkey that West Bromwich Albion have tabled an offer of €10m to sign Fenerbahce midfielder Josef de Souza.
West Brom manager Tony Pulis could be looking to bring in a holding midfielder before the deadline, despite recently signing Gareth Barry from Everton. It was reported in the Turkish media West Brom were now waiting on a response from Fenerbahce.
Haberturk have also reported on the Premier League side’s pursuit of Souza, and they claim the actual offer made by West Brom is €13m.
As mentioned in Friday’s claims, Fenerbahce haven’t yet given any positive or negative response to West Brom say Haberturk, but the Turkish side stand to make a decent profit for a player they purchased for €8m.
West Brom should find out in the coming days if Fenerbahce will accept their offer for Souza, with the possibility of another player arriving at the Hawthorns late into this window.
There will be no worry about a work permit, because despite Souza being Brazilian, Haberturk point out he also holds an EU passport.
