This week, there’s been a rollercoaster of rumours regarding Manchester United’s interest in Napoli defender Kim Min-Jae.

Despite reports from Italy first saying it was a ‘matter of details’ until the defender joined the Red Devils, his entourage soon told the South Korean media he wouldn’t rush for a summer move.

As outlet Calcio Mercato now writes about this pursuit, they point out that despite the competition from Manchester City, Manchester United actually have a ‘clear advantage’ for the signing.

It’s said that ‘money is not a problem’ for the Red Devils, especially because Kim is protected by a release clause which should only cost around €60m.

Calcio Mercato writes that ‘the shot seems safe’, saying that in England, they are sure of the defender’s ‘willingness to embrace Erik ten Hag’s technical project’.

There is, however, obviously some doubt about when Manchester United would move for the signing, partly because it’s already been said that Kim will be joining military training in South Korea in June.

Calcio Mercato then talk about the possibility of an attempt in the first two weeks of July, as his clause has a deadline for the 15th of that month. And with the Red Devils possibly being bought by new owners, it’s said he could be the last signing of the Glazer era.
