On Sunday, Tuttosport reported Wolverhampton Wanderers have become the latest club to make an approach for Arthur Melo.

Wolves would have to battle with Crystal Palace to sign the midfielder in the summer window.

That’s according to Calciomercato, who say Wolves and Crystal Palace have emerged as a ‘double surprise opportunity’ for the 26-year-old.

The Brazilian has returned to the Serie A side after a difficult loan spell at Liverpool. He has a contract until 2025 and the report states he earns €8m per year, which the English clubs could match.

Therefore, the Old Lady are working with Arthur’s agent to place him in the Premier League. It’s claimed ‘two roads’ leading to Wolves and Crystal Palace have emerged in the ‘last few hours’.

Calciomercato say agent Jorge Mendes, who has close ties with Julen Loptegui’s side, is acting as an intermediary and has contacted Juve to sign the player on loan. Wolves have identified him as a target to replace Rubén Neves.

Another track is leading to Selhurst Park as the website says the Eagles could ‘show up’ to sign Arthur. That’s all they have to say about Crystal Palace.

Juventus, who are keen to get rid of the South American, are working to find a solution for him in England.
