Signed in the summer from Dijon in France to backup José Sa, Bobby Allain has done just that at Olympiakos this season, only featuring in the Kypello Elladas, the domestic cup.
For the rest, he’s sat on the bench and patiently accepted his role, which included the two leg victory over Arsenal, and he will do the exact same thing against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Europa League.
Amid Covid-19 fears, the game between Wolves and the Super League leaders is still scheduled to be played on Thursday night, even if both sides aren’t exactly thrilled about it, days after the Greek club’s owner, Evangelos Marinakis, was diagnosed with the virus.
However, for Allain and the rest of the Olympiakos team, it’s business as usual, and they won’t approach the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers any differently than they did against Arsenal.
And beat the Gunners they did in dramatic fashion, gaining confidence ahead of facing yet another Premier League side, albeit one slightly better placed than their last opponents.
With the first leg in Athens, it’ll be up to Wolves to at least score an away goal and take a good result home with them back to Molineux for the second leg.
Then again, who knows if and when the return fixture will be played considering the circumstances?
