Barcelona need to raise money quickly.
Their accounts for the 2018/19 year close at the end of this month, and they want some sales in to make everything look a little better.
This is something the Catalan media have been talking about for months, with a list of players being edged towards the door. However, with just two weeks left until the end of June they haven’t got anything sorted and there’s nothing looking especially imminent.
Andre Gomes is a likely track, and Sunday’s Sport reports the midfielder wants a permanent move to Everton, and Marco Silva wants his club to get a deal done for Barcelona.
A €30m asking price is proving to be a ‘barrier’.
Everton likely overpaid for Yerry Mina last summer, and even though Lucas Digne has been an excellent signing, the Toffees paid more than the Catalan media believed Barca were hoping for.
Therefore there’s likely some Blaugrana optimism they can get the €30m, and a feeling at Everton they won’t cave in again.
