Brentford certainly won’t want to lose Neal Maupay this summer. The 22 year old scored 28 goals last season, as well as adding nine assists, and he’s crucial for the club’s ambitions in the coming campaign.

However, L’Equipe report on Sunday that an exit is possible, and actually being worked on.

It’s Sevilla which could the destination, and that would obviously be tempting for the player. The French newspaper say Maupay is in ‘great demand’ among English clubs, but there’s also interest coming from Spain.

The player’s agent travelled to Seville this weekend to hold talks with the club about a possible summer switch. Things aren’t advanced yet and L’Equipe report Brentford would likely start negotiations at around €10m.

Saint Etienne, who sold Maupay for €2m in 2017, are due 25% of the profit from a transfer.

These claims aren’t being pushed by Sevilla’s local media at this time, which would suggest it’s an idea for the La Liga club rather than a concrete track.
