Capturar2The Manchester United crisis was highlighted by two major Portuguese newspapers on Tuesday, and each one of them find one person to blame for the recent bad results.

The loss to Watford had already been reported in the Monday editions, but now the outlets are focusing on commenting on the issues at the club.

For O Jogo, Wayne Rooney is the bigger problem. They claim his midfield role isn’t working, as the player only has one goal and two assists in six games.

Sunday’s performance is described as “the palest so far” as he missed passes, had poor control and wasted crosses.

French midfielder Paul Pogba also gets a bit of criticism, as the paper claims he’s taking “too long to explode” and still hasn’t contributed with any goals or assists.

On the other hand, Diário de Notícias are not so harsh on the players. Their focus is on the English criticism towards José Mourinho lately.

CapturarThey explain why José Mourinho has been called “The Special Gone” after 14 defeats in 32 games and show all the numbers which could prove it, including the huge figures spent on transfers.

The newspaper also highlights quotes from Paul Scholes and Gary Lineker and name them as the biggest critics of the Portuguese manager.

Diário de Notícias finish their story saying United had one more point under Louis van Gaal by this time last year, as if this was the biggest argument to confirm how bad José Mourinho has been doing at the club.
