On February 21st, Bild reported Manchester United have set their sights on four Bayer Leverkusen players, including Jeremie Frimpong. It was also stated the Red Devils would need a lot of money to sign all of them in the summer.

Operating as a right wing-back, he managed 11 goals and 11 assists from 34 games this season. His fine displays have caught the attention of other clubs, including Manchester United.

That’s according to Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg, who took to X to state the Red Devils have included the 23-year-old in their target list for the next window.

As well as Erik ten Hag’s side, Bayern Munich are also looking at the player. Plettenberg states the Netherlands international has a release clause in the range of €40-45m.

The journalist adds that several top clubs are ‘still interested’ in the Dutchman and only the Bavarian club and Manchester United are named. Plettenberg says a decision on his future could be made by the ‘end of April’.

Xabi Alonso is set to continue at Leverkusen and this could influence Frimpong’s decision, likely to continue with the Bundesliga leaders.

On his future, he told Sky: “I just want to win trophies. I am really so focused on this season and on Leverkusen. But in the future? You never know what will happen in football.”

When asked about Bayern as a next possible destination, Frimpong explained: “Bayern Munich are a great team but I am a player of Leverkusen and so happy to be there.”
