Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag wants them to make a new bid for Ajax striker Brian Brobbey in January, with £100m potentially available to spend.

That’s according to Fichajes, who say Brobbey is the profile that Ten Hag likes most to strengthen his forward line.

Reports in the English media this week have stated that Manchester United will continue to spend in the January transfer window, with three positions in mind.

They have £70m ready to spend but that could be boosted by a potential sale of Cristiano Ronaldo following the World Cup, which could take the figure to £100m.

One of the positions United would like to strengthen is up front, particularly if Ronaldo departs, and Ten Hag would like another player who can rotate with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

The Manchester United boss wants a ‘more attacking nine’ and, according to Fichajes, Brobbey is the profile that ‘the coach likes the most’.

He could have moved to Old Trafford in the summer and even spoke to Ten Hag about the move but elected to return to Ajax instead after a successful loan spell there last season.

It seems that has not put off his former manager, though, and he plans to return to the issue again in January.
