Last week, we covered reports from Portugal saying Manchester United fullback Alex Telles was keen on a return to Porto.

With him being unlikely to have any chances with the Red Devils next season, he reportedly gave his former club his ‘priority’ in the summer window.

Well, since Manchester United are said to be pursuing Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa, it was a matter of time until two and two were put together. That’s what Correio da Manhã does today.

It’s claimed that since the Red Devils want the Portugal international and aren’t keen on paying his €75m release clause, they could use Telles as a solution.

The idea would be to loan the fullback to Porto and pay a big part of his salary, which stands at €5.5m net per season.

Porto manager Sérgio Conceição is said to be keen on Telles’ return to the club, so that’s the type of move that would make sense for all.

There’s also the fact that the Dragons have the need to make €50m before the end of the month. So even with the discount, Manchester United would still be matching Porto’s minimum request.
