Portuguese newspaper A Bola report that Ederson will have his Manchester City medical on Tuesday morning, and should everything go well, which it’s very much expected to, he’ll sign his five year contract with the club after that.

Then Manchester City can announce the signing, along with Benfica.

With the Portuguese club having to announce any such business to the stock-market, there’s no way it can all be done quiet, with an announcement then chosen at a time to suit Manchester City.

A Bola say that despite claims in England of a higher fee, they’re still hearing a figure of €40m from the Portuguese side of the deal. That will be carved up between Benfica, Ederson’s previous club Rio Ave, and Jorge Mendes’ agency Gestifute.

There’s a possibility extra payments will be made down the line, but that’s certainly not something A Bola are saying is agreed already.

Indeed, the Portuguese press have been using English figures to make it look like Manchester City are paying more than perhaps they are, further detail is likely to come out pretty soon.
