Manchester City’s Belgian defender Jason Denayer is close to seal another Galatasaray loan deal, according to Turkish media outlet Milliyet.
The 21 year old spent last season on loan at Galatasaray and played 28 games, getting some crucial experience and improving his game. Denayer is currently training with Manchester City and was included in his side’s Champions League squad to face Steaua Bucharest.
After Manchester City’s signing of John Stones, the future quickly became uncertain for Denayer and, according to Milliyet, he’s insisted to Pep Guardiola that Galatasaray is his preferred choice if he is allowed to leave on loan.
Denayer, who played in Belgium’s 3-1 loss to Wales in Euro ’16, impressed at Galatasaray despite mainly being used at right back instead of his favoured central defender position.
It would be no surprise if Manchester City had serious thoughts about keeping Denayer, especially if they manage to offload Eliaquim Mangala.
