Greek website Sdna report Olympiacos’ hierarchy and the club’s manager Pedro Martins are in ‘shock’ after the government proposed their Europa League 2nd leg tie against Wolverhampton Wanderers to take place behind closed doors.
It’s reported UEFA will today decide if this will be upheld, but the Portuguese manager has been left alarmed about the recommendations from the Greek government.
Sdna say he thinks Olympiacos fans will be a key factor during the game against Wolves and he wants to play the game in front of the passionate Erythrolefki faithful.
The decision to close the doors for Thursday’s game will also affect Wolves fans as Sdna report approximately 1500 have already booked their flights for the match.
After reporting their first Coronavirus case on February 26th, Greece’s health ministry confirmed on Saturday it had recorded 21 new cases, which brought the number up to 66.
Olympiacos knocked out Arsenal in the last round after a late goal in extra time, whilst Wolves breezed past Espanyol.
