Goztepe’s reported interest in Chelsea left-back Rahman Baba has been confirmed by the Super Lig club’s manager Kemal Ozdes.
Yesterday Bein Sports Turkey claimed the Turkish club have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign the player and that he will join them on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Last night Ozdes spoke to the media after their cup game clash against Antalyaspor as covered by Sabah: “We have two or three options for left back and Baba is certainly one of them. We are working hard to sign one of these players.”
Haber Global’s journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has also reported Goztepe are interested in signing the Chelsea player but they must beat Spanish clubs Villarreal and Girona to bring in the Ghana international.
Baba was loaned out to Bundesliga outfit Schalke at the start of the season, but failed to make an impact during his time in Germany, playing just two league games.
Goztepe are also in the market for a left-back after their first choice Adama Traore was sidelined until the end of the season due to a ruptured ACL.
