With Diogo Dalot the only right-back to have played for Manchester United in the Premier League this season, it’s very clear that Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s future lies elsewhere.

Despite arriving at Old Trafford from Crystal Palace with high hopes, the defender hasn’t managed to kick on, and doesn’t quite fit the profile Erik ten Hag wants from his full-backs.

Therefore, it isn’t surprising to see Manchester United looking for a replacement, with the England international expected to leave sooner rather than later, and Jeremie Frimpong is among those being looked at.

This comes courtesy of Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, who took to social media to reveal that the Bayer Leverkusen defender is ‘on the list’ of the Red Devils ‘next to other players’.

He adds Manchester United ‘want to transfer a high quality right-back’ in the January transfer window, but could wait until the summer if needs be.

Frimpong, down his end, is a ‘key player’ for the Bundesliga side, who have had a start to the season to forget.

They are now managed by Xabi Alonso, who probably won’t want to lose one of his best players just yet, but he might not have a choice in that.

Either way, Plettenburg adds that Frimpong is a ‘very interesting profile for Ten Hag’, as the Dutchman has four goals and two assists in 14 appearances this season.
