Two days ago, Takvim reported Galatasaray vice-president Erden Timur is set to make a trip to England to hold talks with Manchester United over a deal for Fred.

On Tuesday, Milliyet stated the Brazil international has ‘said yes’ to the Istanbul club and the Red Devils are waiting for an offer for him.

Galatasaray want to sign two midfielders and are now edging closer towards completing a deal for Bayer Leverkusen’s Kerem Demirbay, according to Hürriyet.

They also state the Manchester United player could be one of the options for the Turkish champions.

Galatasaray are looking for a midfielder who can operate as a No.6 and No.8. This is why they are ‘focused’ on the 30-year-old and Tottenham Hotspur’s Tanguy Ndombélé.

Hürriyet claim Galatasaray ‘continue the negotiations’ for both Fred and the Frenchman. They add the hope is to sign one of them ‘this week’.

Meanwhile, Fotomaç also explain that the negotiations are ongoing between Galatasaray and Erik ten Hag’s side for the South American. It’s claimed the two clubs ‘will meet once again this week’.

The report suggests the meeting could take place on Wednesday, which is why today would be a ‘critical day’ in Galatasaray’s pursuit of Fred.
