Despite claims that Fred could be heading to Italy with Lazio interested, the Manchester United’s most likely destination away from Old Trafford is Turkey.
That’s according to Takvim, who cover the transfer situation at Galatasaray these days, who remain very keen on the Brazilian.
Manchester United appear more than happy to let the midfielder go, as he would bring some funds for the signing of Sofyan Amrabat, but they also don’t want to give him away.
Takvim state that Galatasaray are ‘determined’ to sign the Manchester United player, and their deputy chairman, Erden Timur, is ‘scheduled to travel to England again’ after their UEFA Champions League qualifier against Lithuanian side FK Zalgiris.
That’s where he will meet with members of the Old Trafford side to discuss a transfer, and there is confidence, in fact, that they could sign him as early as ‘next week’.
Whatever amount Fred is sold for, it will represent a big loss no what Manchester United originally paid for him, sending €59m over to Shakhtar Donetsk back in 2018.
