Over the past couple of days, multiple reports coming out of Argentina talked about Estudiantes’ interest in Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo.
Three days ago, we covered claims from La Nación that the defender is interested in returning to his former club in the winter market.
Argentine sports newspaper Olé now brings the latest update and their report’s headline states the Red Devils player is ‘closer and closer’ towards Estudiantes.
Within the report, it’s mentioned the 29-year-old is ‘one step away’ from the South American side as the Old Trafford club could allow the versatile defender to join the team managed by Gabriel Milito.
It’s claimed the possibility of the transfer enhanced after the former Sporting man asked United to allow him go out on loan as he’s not a key player for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
For the transfer to take shape, it depends more on the negotiation between Rojo and United.
Olé have consulted Estudiantes and Rojo, and both of them asked for caution, despite the optimism. Things could progress further in the final days of the January window.
