Wolverhampton Wanderers are in the mix for striker Joaquin Panichelli after his 20 goals in La Liga 2 on loan with Mirandés this season.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who report that Wolves are competing with Strasbourg for the striker after his impressive campaign.
They report that the striker’s performances on loan at Mirandés on loan from Alaves this season have earned him attention. He’s scored 20 goals in 36 games, pushing Mirandés to fifth in the table and into the playoffs.
Strasbourg have taken notice of him but are facing particular competition from Wolves, who have also picked up on him and would be interested in a deal.
The belief is that a deal can be done for around €20m, although whether either side would actually pay that remains to be seen. It is certainly on the high side for a striker with 20 goals in the second division in Spain.
He also suffered a cruciate ligament injury in July 2023 that he only returned from in January 2024. That would surely be a concern, regardless of his performances since.
He’s a name to keep an eye on either way, with Wolves in the mix but facing competition from Strasbourg for the 22-year-old.
