Don’t worry, Manchester United fans, your club are still interested in Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, even if the Italian press haven’t mentioned it in over a week.
Last we checked, it was Sport Mediaset with the news, claiming approaches of around €70m had been made for the Serbia international, but Lazio want €150m, which is a figure that has remained semi-constant throughout the local media over the past few months.
Since the start of the current season, it has been made very clear that a number of clubs, including Manchester United, have been keeping tabs on the 23-year-old’s development, and his current side know they will most likely have to cash in when huge offers come along in the summer.
Among those are likely to be José Mourinho’s side, as the Portuguese manager has been described as a huge fan of Milinkovic-Savic in the past.
So much so, in fact, that Il Messaggero claim Manchester (by which they mean United, as is the norm in the foreign media) have continued to observe the midfielder recently, who scored his 10th league goal at the weekend in a 4-0 win over Sampdoria.
However, the Italian newspaper also hint that should Real Madrid come knocking, the former KRC Genk starlet would choose them since he’s a fan of theirs.
Furthermore, Il Messaggero make it clear no deals will be made before the World Cup, stating there’s only four games and the international tournament left before we find out who is willing to pay the money since Lazio know a good few games in Russia could help them get a few more million in the bank.
