Once again Tuttosport have a big article on Emre Can. And once again things are presented as being imminent.
The Turin newspaper say that this week Can will decide on his future and which club he’ll join at the end of his Liverpool contract. A stay at Anfield hasn’t really been presented as a possibility, and Tuttosport say the danger for Juventus is now Bayern Munich, with the seemingly imaginary Real Madrid interest now cooling.
Then the newspaper add: ‘…according to what is filtering from Germany something important could happen by the end of this week, perhaps already in the next 24-48 hours.’
And that’s an interesting slant, because Can to Bayern Munich hasn’t really taken off in Germany.
With Can being a German international, playing for the German media darling Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, and Bayern Munich being the country’s most covered club by far… if there was a sniff of this move it would be huge in Germany.
But there’s nothing of the sort.
Bild, who have excellent connections to Bayern and break a lot of the club’s biggest stories, haven’t been pushing or even mentioning it, so it’s all quite odd.
Again, the only sense that we can see for Can delaying Juventus is he’s either holding out for other interest or has a more controversial move lined up and wants to keep it a secret until he’s way out of Liverpool.
