Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva continues to be on Barcelona’s agenda even after they failed signing him in the last window.

The 28-year-old’s desire to join the La Liga side was repeatedly mentioned in the Catalan media, but no deal took shape.

Monday’s Sport says the Manchester City star is a target for the Blaugrana, but the pressure from the Premier League winners could ‘spoil’ their efforts to bring him to the Camp Nou.

With a deal expiring in 2025, it’s said the Portugal international has a renewal offer from Pep Guardiola’s side.

The midfielder’s priority is to join the Spanish giants and Guardiola is aware of it. Silva’s environment, however, wants Barcelona to define his potential signing because he is ‘not going to wait forever’.

In order to sign Silva, Barcelona will have to either raise funds through selling a player or activate a new lever. The former Porto man wants Xavi Hernández’s side to forget about him, if they cannot define his signing for next summer.

Silva is ‘waiting’ and a lack of firm decision from Barcelona could benefit Manchester City.

He has been a regular figure for the Cityzens, managing two goals and five assists from 22 matches this season.
