Pep Guardiola’s current deal at Manchester City will run down in 2021 and reports from the British press have suggested a clause in contract can see the 48-year-old leave the Etihad after this season.
The Catalan coach has denied these claims and repeatedly stressed he has no plans of leaving the Premier League winners.
However, this hasn’t stopped the rumours discussing about the possibility of Guardiola leaving City after this season.
He’s been linked with his former clubs, and two days ago the French media reported Paris Saint-Germain are lining up a move for him with Xavi as his assistant.
They state there’s ‘tranquility’ at Manchester City and they are ‘very calm’ when it comes to their manager’s future.
In the offices of the Etihad, they’re clear Guardiola will not leave the English champions after this campaign, despite the exit rumours.
Sport adds, that knowing Guardiola’s commitment to Txiki Begiristain, Ferran Soriano and City, it would be strange to see him leave his current employer before his contract expires in 2021.
The report, however, adds City are ‘very clear’ that ‘Pep will leave whenever he wants’.
