Man City send scouts to watch one player, but great volleyed goal from another changes things

 

Everyone here in Turkey currently talking about Besiktas’ great comeback against Benfica.

‘Kara Kartal’ were behind 3-0 at the break but goals from Cenk Tosun, Ricardo Quaresma and Cenk Tosun helped them to overturn the deficit and now they have a great chance of progress into into the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Milliyet reports Manchester City scouts were very impressed with Besiktas’ Cenk Tosun, and they have already planned to follow him closely after his display against Benfica.

The 25-year old’s great volley started the comeback and his overall display was also very encouraging. Manchester City scouts were there to watch Benfica’s Gonçalo Guedes but their attention was snatched after Tosun’s great performance.

The Turkish international moved to Besiktas from Gaziantepspor in 2014 and has been a vital part of his team since. Cenk scored 17 goals in only 11 starts in the 2015-16 season and his form has been even better this season, already scoring 7 league goals.

This could well be the Turkish media fluffing their feathers after the great comeback, but stranger things have happened.
