It’s well known that Claudio Bravo doesn’t have the best relationship with his national team. Constantly involved in controversies with the Chilean FA and his teammates, there’s always a reason for media outlets to have a go at the goalkeeper.

Now that the Manchester City player is injured, he’s made it to the front page of several newspapers in his country. And today, El Mercurio brings an interesting story about his situation.

The newspaper claims that no one from the Chilean FA has called Bravo. Not to say he could still meet the national team in Europe, or to show support for his recovery. He didn’t get a word from La Roja.

Sources close to the player have told El Mercurio that “Bravo is emotionally well, leaning on his family to face this situation.”

El Mercurio also points out that only two national teammates posted something about him on social media: Cristopher Toselli and Marcelo Diaz.

They name players like Arturo Vidal, Alexis Sanchez and Gary Medel as some who could have shown support to the goalkeeper, especially the first two, who had social media posts yesterday, but not talking about Bravo.

Without making it clear if they got it from sources or outlets from England, there are quotes saying: “With Alexis he has a very good relationship, they speak constantly and there’s no doubt he wrote to him, although he hasn’t made it public”.
