Even though the Portuguese media tries to sound impartial today, it’s clear they’re happy that the likes of Ederson, Ruben Dias, João Cancelo and Bernardo Silva will all be playing the Champions League final for the same team this year.

Manchester City’s win over Paris Saint Germain gets a big coverage worldwide, and in Lisbon, there’s some special attention to the man who was awarded the man of the match.

Portuguese outlets all feature the quotes from the likes of John Terry and Jamie Carragher as they made big praises towards Ruben Dias. His prize is highlighted by local newspapers, with Record making some special praises to the former Benfica star.

“In the 2nd leg of the semifinals, Guardiola’s formation, which had Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva as starters, surpassed PSG, winning thanks to a brace from the Algerian, this in a game in which the citizens counted with an imperial Ruben Dias,” Record writes.

“The Portuguese centre-back was elected the best in the field, as he stopped three dangerous shots and it was in the defence that was the key to City’s success.”

We can see some compliments towards Ruben Dias in the Italian media as well. Speaking to Sky Sport, AC Milan legend Alessandro Costacurta was the one praising the Manchester City defender (via Tutto Mercato Web).

“Ruben Dias brought a plus in defence, he improved it. They don’t run back, they jump back and it was Pep’s masterstroke in the defensive phase: Dias and the others are exalted by this attitude.”
