It’s not new to see Manchester City and Manchester United being linked to Palmeiras wonderkid Endrick, as since the teenager started shining in Brazil, both Premier League clubs were said to be interested in him.

The starlet is still 15-years-of-age and hasn’t made his debut for the Verdão yet. He’s set to do so in July, when he turns 16 and his agreement for his first professional contract becomes official.

So as journalist Jorge Nicola today features a report on Endrick’s situation, he claims that the forward’s staff and Palmeiras already set a date for him to leave the club. That’s the summer of 2024, when he turns 18.

It’s said it’s possible the Brazilian side actually sell him very soon, and only let him go when he reaches the age which FIFA allows him to move. The transfer gets a lot more likely in case the interested clubs trigger the release clause he’ll have.

The sides who are said to be the ‘most interested’ are Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain. And it’s the Catalan side who are said to be closest to making a bid.

Endrick will soon be protected by a €40m release clause. Then it will be raised in the following years to €50m and €60m.

It’s obviously crazy to think a player who hasn’t even made his debut for the first team would be worth that amount.

But for what he’s shown so far, Palmeiras are probably right to protect him this way and expect such a big sale. And if Manchester City and Manchester United are indeed moving for him, they better be prepared to spend big.
