Manchester City’ defender Gael Clichy is the first choice target for Fenerbahçe claim Turkish newspaper Fanatik. It’s been reported Fenerbahçe are looking to add a new left back to their team and the 31-year old player has emerged as a serious target.
This could also have implications for Celtic in their pursuit of Fenerbahce’s Hasan Ali Kaldirim after the Scottish Premier side made an approach for the player in January. Celtic boss Brendan Rogers is keen to bring defender to Celtic Park in the summer on a free transfer.
Aykut Kocaman, who’s soon to be announced as the Fenerbahce manager to replace Dick Advocaat, said to the board signing the Manchester City left back has to be a priority because he believes his offensive and defensive qualities will be a perfect for his side.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is chasing a couple of left backs including Juventus’ Alex Sandro and Fenerbahçe are hoping they can convince Clichy to join them.

During the last window we covered reports from Turkey claiming Celtic manager Rodgers is keen on Hasan Ali and wants to bring in the defender to provide competition to Mikael Lustig and Emilio Izaguirre. Celtic in recent weeks have continued be linked with the Turkey international, ahead of the summer window.
Celtic have already had preliminary discussions with Hasan Ali’s agent, as claimed by the Turkish press in January.
It’s been reported Celtic have offered £1.6m a year to Hasan Ali and the Scottish club are also prepared to give him a £1m signing on-fee.
