The Brazilian media today shares very interesting updates on the case of West Ham United star Lucas Paquetá.

Globo Esporte features a long story explaining that it was the player’s legal team who were responsible for the postponement of his statement regarding the betting accusations.

Paquetá’s entourage are said to be requesting ‘more consistent proof’ about the case involving the West Ham player.

The story claims there are no signs from the FA that there’s evidence directly linked to the player, such as ‘telephone interceptions, documents or even specification of financial contributions’.

Even though it’s their job to carry the investigation, it’s usual that the actions are taken at the end of the season.

The lawyers’ questioning also includes the ‘immediate impacts’ that the investigation had on the West Ham player.

That includes the collapse of his transfer to Manchester City and his exclusion from the national team’s latest call-up.

Globo Esporte explains that Roc Nation, the company who represents Paquetá, hired English lawyers who are in ‘direct contact’ with the FA to work on the case. The entourage told the outlet that the ‘orientation’ is for them not to make any comments about it.
