What is normally a quiet day for Liverpool has been anything but on transfer deadline day, with two new centre-backs coming in.

The first was Ben Davies from Preston North End, and the second will be Schalke 04’s Ozan Kabak.

The defender is now expected to join Jürgen Klopp’s side on loan with an option to buy, and the deal should be done in the next few minutes.

That’s according to Sky Sport Germany’s Max Bielefeld, who explains the amount will be €3m up front for the initial loan and the option to buy Kabak permanently will be €30m.

All that needs to be done is for the ‘files to be uploaded to FIFA’ and then the ‘green light’ will be given, needing to do so before 5pm.

And if all that wasn’t enough, German journalist Lukas Rott added to social media that the centre-back is ‘just saying goodbye’ to his Schalke 04 teammates, clearly readying himself to travel to Liverpool.
