Iker Casillas’ links with Liverpool continue to come out in the European media.
This time it’s not coming from England, Portugal or even Spain. It’s now the Italian press with a small update on the Reds’ chase for the goalkeeper.
Tutto Mercato Web reports that Liverpool are currently preparing an offer to bring the 36-year-old to Anfield in the next summer window.
Casillas is expected to leave Porto at the end of the season due to his high wages. As his contract will be expiring, the clubs would have no expenses to find a deal with Porto, so it’s all about the personal terms.
According to the website, Jurgen Klopp’s intention is to bring the goalkeeper to compete with Loris Karius. Simon Mignolet would not be involved in this, since he’s expected to leave the club.
Casillas would have an offer from the United States as well, but since his priority is to continue in Europe, that would give Liverpool some advantage.
We’re still struggling to buy it.
