Liverpool midfielder Pedro Chirivella has revealed manager Jürgen Klopp is exactly like he appears on the TV behind the scenes.
The Reds boss is known to be one of the more charismatic managers in the Premier League who is often good for a quote or soundbite.
Rival fans have often criticised him; as a result, believing the German is simply playing up to the media and creating a person to hide behind.
Liverpool players have often gone out of their way to refute this, though, with Chirivella himself having said as much in the past.
He has now reiterated that stance, insisting that what you see is what you get from the Liverpool manager.
“I train with Klopp every day,” he told Onda Cero.
“He’s as you see on TV. A coach with a lot of character and a style that captivates players, That’s reflected in the season we’re having.”
Their campaign had looked like being a flawless one before a surprise defeat to Atlético Madrid in the Champions League midway through February was followed by a shock 3-0 loss at Watford and defeat against Chelsea in the FA Cup.
That loss in Spain was a “shock” admits Chirivella, although he insists that they’re working hard to get back to their previous levels.
The youngster has enjoyed something of a rise himself this season, becoming a part of Klopp’s squad and impressing in the cup competitions.
His increased status has meant he’s earned the honour of training with Liverpool’s first-team stars day in day out.
And when asked who impresses him the most, he admitted there were two who stood out among the group.
“All of them in general (impress),” he added.
“But if I really had to choose it would be Firmino or Van Dijk, who is a physical beast. They are two incredible players.”
