Liverpool have made the signing of Nice midfielder Khéphren Thuram this summer a ‘priority objective’ despite the signing of Alexis MacAllister.

That’s according to L’Equipe, who say contacts ‘have multiplied in recent weeks’ and the player is ‘seduced’ at the idea of moving to Anfield.

Liverpool are believed to be keen to completely overhaul their midfield this summer as that area of the team proved to be a weak point throughout this season.

James Milner, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain and Naby Keita have already departed as a result of that, with Mac Allister so far, the only incoming to strengthen the squad.

They’ve been linked with other midfielders all over Europe, though, including Thuram, who several big sides are looking at following his impressive performances for Nice.

According to L’Equipe, they’ve made signing the French midfielder a ‘priority objective’ and contacts have been multiplied in recent weeks to make that happen.

The player is not against leaving Nice, despite a strong attachment to the club, and has shown himself to be ‘seduced’ by the project on offer under Jurgen Klopp.

There’s no mention of an asking price or anything of that nature, just the suggestion that he looks likely to be the next major arrival at Liverpool in the coming weeks.
