Liverpool are pushed forward as the main contender to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham, according to reports from Spain and Germany.

Sky Deutschland reporter Florian Plettenberg claims the Reds are ‘still in’ in the race. Their manager, Jürgen Klopp, along with a few Liverpool players, are ‘still pushing’ to bring the 19-year-old to Anfield.

The journalist adds the Bundesliga side would sell the midfielder for around €100-150m next summer.

Bellingham is currently with England at the World Cup, where he has starred for the Three Lions.

Marca state the teenager’s fine displays in Qatar have seen his asking price soar and Real Madrid fear this would put him out of their reach. There have been talks of a €150m price tag, which Los Blancos are not willing to pay.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side have to wait and hope the player’s final decision could turn the deal in their favour. Liverpool get a mention as the report explains they are the club that has ‘taken the lead’ in the transfer battle.

Over at Mundo Deportivo, they also explain the Champions League winners don’t intend to pay €150m for Bellingham. It’s added Real Madrid are behind the Reds in the transfer chase.

It’s stated Liverpool, on the other hand, seem willing to pay €150m to sign the BVB star since Klopp ‘wants’ him at the club.

The operation to sign Bellingham is expected to take place next summer and it won’t be a surprise if there are new twists to this ongoing saga in the coming months.
