French midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia arrived with a big reputation at Inter Milan, but has largely failed to make an impact at the Serie A club.
According to Italian website Web Calcio, there’s interest from Liverpool in a January move. Inter are prepared to allow Kondogbia to leave on loan in January, and the Merseyside club have reportedly ‘come forward’ in the ‘past few hours’.
Web Calcio say Liverpool are also ready to pay his wages, that would be their offer, but Kondogbia may struggle to find regular playing time at the Premier League club.
Liverpool aren’t playing in any European competition this season, and it’s unlikely Jurgen Klopp would want to provide a service to Inter to get Kondogbia back in form. Liverpool are currently better than Inter, so he’d likely find things harder on Merseyside.
Kondogbia arrived at Inter from AS Monaco in January in a €35m deal, and has another four years left on his contract at the Serie A club. There had been links of a Premier League move before Kondogbia left Monaco, but perhaps the price got a little high.
