On Thursday, journalist Ciro Venerato told CalcioNapoli24 that Manchester United called Victor Osimhen’s new agent to find out if the Lille striker has already signed for Napoli.
The Serie A club were believed to be edging closer towards signing the Nigeria international, but the situation has changed after the latter decided to change agents.
Speaking to Sportitalia, another Italian journalist, Alfredo Pedullà, explained the Red Devils and Liverpool have been ‘sent messages’, more likely to the 21-year-old’s new representative.
Calciomercato.it state ‘there is Liverpool’, and the Italian side could face the ‘danger’ from the Premier League champions.
Osimhen’s old representative was pushing him to join Napoli. He is now managed by William d’Avila and the latter has informed his client about the ‘important interest’ from several English clubs.
The website doesn’t mention any other club apart from Jürgen Klopp’s side, and it’s claimed Liverpool are ‘in the lead’.
Lille want to cash in from the player’s sale this summer and as per the report, the Ligue 1 side are ‘buying time’ to close his exit operation.
It could be a possibility that United and Liverpool are being dragged into the mix by Osimhen’s new agent, to put pressure on Napoli to offer better a economic deal to the Lille star.
