Here’s one more centre-back being linked to Liverpool.
This time it’s Schalke 04’s Ozan Kabak who’s reported as a target for the Reds, according to a story from Sport Media Set.
A short paragraph on their website says Liverpool have set eyes on the 20-year-old, while the German side demand €30m for a move. Jurgen Klopp is said to be ‘aiming’ for the signing, and the Merseyside club are ‘one more in rival’ in the chase for him.
Why is an Italian outlet reporting that? Well, it’s because AC Milan had Kabak as a target for the summer window, and keep chasing him for a possible move in the future. Now they see the Reds as a threat in the race for the Turkish international.
Unsurprisingly, the reason for Liverpool’s interest is said to be the injury picked up by Virgil van Dijk last weekend. The defender has no date to return, and several centre-backs have been linked to the Reds in only a few days since.
Kazak joined Schalke 04 in a €15m move from Stuttgart last year, and saw his value grow a lot in his first season with the club. His contract runs until 2024.
