Burnley manager Vincent Kompany is in contention for the vacant job at Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs are looking for a permanent manager after sacking Antonio Conte last month. They have tasked Ryan Mason with taking charge, after parting ways with interim manager, Cristian Stellini, last week.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Burnley coach could be an option for Tottenham and the two parties have already held talks.

The 37-year-old is represented by Wasserman and Tavolieri states the Belgian’s agent is ‘in contact with Daniel Levy’.

Burnley appointed Kompany as their manager last summer and he helped them secure a promotion to the top flight by winning the Championship this season. He also spent over a decade at Manchester City during his playing career.

The journalist states Levy ‘likes’ the 37-year-old’s ‘brand image in England’, with a ‘style of play that would suit Tottenham’s identity’.

If Spurs were to be successful in tempting the Burnley manager, Tavolieri claims he would arrive in north London with seven members of his backroom staff and also have a say in Tottenham’s business in the summer.

Despite the agent making contact with Levy, Kompany is focused on helping Burnley finish the season with 100 points. To achieve it, they need to win both their remaining matches.
