Tottenham are ‘willing to explore’ a possible move for Victor Osimhen if he decides to leave Napoli following the TikTok video incident.
That’s according to Fichajes, who say that Spurs had considered Osimhen as a second option behind Ivan Toney but are now willing to look into a €120m deal.
They explain that Tottenham are continuing to explore the market and look for options to bolster their squad, particularly the center forward position which has been left short following Harry Kane’s departure.
The first on the list is Toney but signing him would not be easy, so they have also ‘considered’ Osimhen as an option as well.
He was once considered ‘non-transferable’ at Napoli, but his situation has changed following the recent ‘scandal’ involving a video on TikTok published by the Italian club mocking him.
The striker is currently valued at €120m and while that’s a huge figure for a club like Tottenham, they are ‘willing to explore negotiations possibilities’. Those talks would only happen if a deal for Toney is completely impossible, though.
Spurs simply want to ‘keep their options open’ in the quest to find a striker and Osimhen is among those being looked at.
We will, though, take the report with a pinch of salt. Firstly because of who it comes from and secondly because it seems very unlikely Tottenham would ever spend such a sum on a player.
That’s simply not Daniel Levy’s way, despite the report saying it would be his ‘bombshell’ signing, particularly after some of their big purchases have struggled.
It’s also debatable whether Osimhen would even be valued at that figure given Aurelio de Laurentiis reportedly turned down similar offers from Saudi Arabia this summer and quoted them a figure much higher than that.
So, big handfuls of salt actually, but something to potentially keep an eye on if that storm following the infamous TikTok video doesn’t die down.
