Leicester City are one of the clubs to have failed to take Malang Sarr away from Chelsea in the winter market.

The 22-year-old joined the Blues on a free transfer in 2020 and after spending the last season on loan at FC Porto, he was included in the west London club’s squad this campaign.

However, the defender has been restricted to only nine appearances in all competitions, five of which have come in the EFL Cup.

The Frenchman’s situation at Stamford Bridge then drew attention from other clubs, including the Foxes, according to Le10 Sport, who add the centre-back is ‘very courted’ in the winter market.

It’s claimed the Champions League winners received many requests and there were two offers in particular: one was from Brendan Rodgers’ side and the other from AS Roma.

Leicester and José Mourinho’s side were ‘unsuccessful’ to sign Sarr since Chelsea ‘said no to everything’.

With that in mind, it’s stated the player is not expected to leave the club in January because Tuchel wants to retain him until the end of the season.
