With just 198 minutes of football played in the Premier League, Dennis Praet continues to struggle to convince Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City.

The Belgian returned from his loan at Torino last season in hope that the move would be made permanent, but the Serie A side never pulled the trigger, worried that his fitness issues could be problematic in the long run.

That’s why they weren’t prepared to pay €15m for him, but that doesn’t mean they have completely gone off the midfielder, with Calciomercato reminding everyone they still want to sign the Leicester player.

The Italian website reports on Wednesday that despite entering long negotiations with the Foxes during the summer window to get a cut-price deal, ‘which lasted until the last market day’, nothing was to be done.

Leicester refused to lower their demands, but Praet ‘remains one of Torino’s great objectives’ for the January transfer window, and ‘the contacts between the parties are constant’.

In fact, Davide Vagnati, the man in charge of deals at the Italian side hopes to ‘be able to bring the midfielder’ to Turin in the next few months.

Ivan Juric wants him, and will certainly give him far more time on the pitch than Rodgers does at Leicester these days.
