Having decided to accept Chelsea’s offer for Wesley Fofana, Leicester City have been scouring the market for a new centre-back.

There were hints that Jean-Clair Todibo could be the chosen man, but instead of the Frenchman, the Foxes have set their sights on Wout Faes from Stade de Reims.

The Belgian has been touted as a potential exit over the course of the summer, and Torino saw an offer turned down earlier in the transfer window.

However, according to Santi Aouna for Foot Mercato, things are moving very quickly with Leicester, as a ‘total agreement has basically been found’ between the King Power Stadium side and their French counterparts.

As for Faes, he has ‘already given his agreement’ to the Premier League side and is expected to ‘head to England in the next few hours to undergo his medical’.

The 24-year-old arrived at Reims from KV Oostende back in January 2020, but finished that season at his club on loan.

He quickly caught the eye in France last season, however, as he made 37 league appearances for the Ligue 1 side, scoring four goals and assisting another.

This clearly impressed Leicester, who appear now on the verge of signing the Belgium international (one cap).

Sacha Tavolieri then joined in with his own information, claiming the fee should be of around ‘€20m with add-ons’.
