Leicester City and West Ham United interest in Mainz defender Jeremiah St. Juste is back being commented on in the rumour mill today.

This time it’s Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Notícias who features a piece on the player, claiming Sporting would need to make a heavy investment to get him signed.

It’s pointed out that Mainz are demanding €10m for the transfer, while the Lions only want to spend €7.5m to land the centre-back.

Another issue which could spoil Sporting’s plans is the competition to sign St. Juste this summer, and that’s where Leicester City and West Ham come in.

Jornal de Notícias writes that the Foxes and Hammers ‘are the main interested’ clubs in signing the 25-year-old, and have ‘more financial arguments’ to convince him of joining them.

To fight Leicester City and West Ham, Sporting expect to have a card on their sleeve, which is their place in the Champions League, hoping that could ‘seduce’ the player.

However, while the Lions can’t match Mainz demands, it sounds unlikely that they can even join this battle of arguments against the Foxes and Hammers.
