Leicester City striker Islam Slimani has been offered to his former club Sporting, according to claims from Portugal this afternoon.

Outlet Record says the player could return to the Lions on a free move, even though he has the rest of the season left on his contract with the Foxes.

It’s claimed that Slimani’s wish is to return to Sporting. There are other clubs interested in his signing, but he’s focused on signing for the Lisbon side again.

Given the competition, Record says the Lions must ‘act quickly’. The good news is that the transfer window in Portugal only closes tomorrow.

Record writes that Slimani makes €2.8m net per season at Leicester City, and he’s already accepted to lower his salary in order to return to Sporting.

The Foxes spent €30m to sign Slimani from the Lions back in 2016. After struggling to adapt to the club, the striker was loaned to Newcastle United, Fenerbahce and finally AS Monaco.

He holds a great record at Sporting, where he scored 57 goals in 111 matches.
