Leicester City beat Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on Saturday 4-2, but the scoreline could have looked even more favourably upon Claudio Ranieri’s men. A couple of late goals conceded, after Leicester had partly switched off, and Guardiola’s side didn’t quite get the battering that the performance perhaps deserved.

Scoring the first goal of the game, Jamie Vardy was once again crucial for the Premier League champions. Leicester City were 2-0 up a couple of minutes later, thanks to Andy King, and Guardiola had to change his Manchester City system to try and cope.

Each week the grand old Italian newspaper pick out a selection of the best performers from around Europe, whilst ignoring their own Serie A, and Vardy found his way in there, alongside Radamel Falcao and Lionel Messi.
