Signing from Villarreal on loan for Leeds United, Alfonso Pedraza arrived at Elland Road on Wednesday alongside Swansea City winger Modou Barrow.

The 20-year-old Spanish winger spent the first half of the season on loan at CD Lugo in La Liga 2, scoring six goals and picking up eight assists in 23 appearances, a time the player thoroughly enjoyed as he explained on Twitter.

Pedraza took to the social media site to express his feelings about moving to Leeds United, and was extremely thankful for the experience with the small Spanish side.

Mentioning the reasons behind his move to Leeds United, who paid Lugo £300k to cut the player’s time in Galicia short, the forward stated he was ‘very grateful for this new opportunity’, which will allow him ‘to grow as a footballer’.

Furthermore, Pedraza said ‘landing in English football’ filled him with ‘huge excitement’, especially since he would be playing in a club with as much history as Leeds United.

Fine words from the new signing, and there’s no doubt fans will be eager to see him on the pitch in the coming weeks.
