Ouasim Bouy is currently on loan at PEC Zwolle for the third time in his career.

He was edged out of Leeds United in the summer, his outcast status such that he wasn’t even given a squad number before transferring to the Eredivisie club in late August.

Last season the 25 year old had a pretty disastrous loan spell with Cultural Leonesa, again from Leeds, and he’s now on his eighth loan of a difficult career.

Recently, Frank de Boer spoke in the Netherlands about Bouy and how he left Ajax too early. Leaving for Juventus in 2021, De Boer believes it was all about the money and that had he stayed, Bouy had the potential to reach the same level as someone like Davy Klaassen.

Those comments haven’t gone down well with the player himself.

Speaking to Dutch TV, and picked up by Voetbal Zone, it’s explained Bouy has ‘hit back hard’.

“When you talk on television, I hope that you are aware of the facts too. If you are going to mention these things, it’s unbecoming, certainly for a person of his age and with his experience.”

Bouy insists that promises were made at Ajax which weren’t fulfilled, and therefore, De Boer doesn’t know the whole story.

The Amsterdam born player has five appearances in the Eredivisie so far this season. Leeds United, who have him on a contract lasting until 2021, will be watching closely and won’t have seen much to be impressed about so far.
