One of the stars of the show for Burnley last season in the Championship, Manuel Benson has found himself struggling for game time in the Premier League, leading to the likes of Leeds United trying to sign him.

Previous reports suggested the Elland Road side were one of the clubs interested in getting him in January, and Sacha Tavolieri on Thursday claims they aren’t giving up.

The Belgian journalist took to X, formerly Twitter, to bring the latest on the situation, stating that Leeds ‘keep pushing’ to sign the winger from Turf Moor.

It’s said that a ‘new round of talks’ took place between the two sides on Wednesday, showing just how much the Championship want him.

While the 26-year-old only has four appearances in the Premier League under Vincent Kompany this year, his 2022/23 campaign was far better, as he found the back of the net 14 times in 37 appearances in all competitions, as well as picking up four assists.

That’s why Leeds will want him, clearly liking what they witnessed last season, and hoping he can reproduce that form as Daniel Farke and co. continue to push for promotion back to England’s top tier.
